Exciting renovations are done at the A-CAT Center! We have expanded and upgraded to better serve our growing community and take our programs to the next level.
Lydia Dudov, a graduate of A-CAT’s makeup PROGRAM, successfully paved a new career path and now works as a beauty advisor at Super-Pharm. She shares:
“Thanks to A-CAT, I received professional training that led me straight to my dream job. I’m proud and grateful I took the program, so much so that I returned to study another one: women’s hairstyling!”
With the generous support of our friends at the Jewish Federation of New York, A-CAT is launching a powerful series of workshops for Jewish and Arab youth in communities affected by the war. In these difficult times, we see it as our mission to reach the next generation, wherever they are, and bring moments of joy and hope through A-CAT’s hands-on, creative programming.
We celebrated Hanukkah and Christmas together in a joyful, light-filled event that highlighted the spirit of shared living. Activities included photography and 3D workshops, festive decorations, a Christmas tree, and delicious Sufganiyot, demonstrating the power of unity through diversity.
During a time of war, we quietly marked eight years of impact and community service. It was an emotional and intimate event, honoring a center that embraces Israel’s full human mosaic and continues to grow with resilience and purpose.
Once used to transport prime ministers and emperors, the elegant carriages at the Railway Museum in Haifa hosted A-CAT ambassadors for a day of learning and exploration. They climbed the pedestrian bridge for a breathtaking view of Haifa, the port, and the movement of modern trains, a memorable outing.
We proudly took part in the Job and Training Fair organized by the Civilian Emergency Headquarters at Beit Gabriel, meeting evacuees from across the north. A-CAT presented its high-quality programs alongside top employers like Rafael, Elbit, and Strauss.
A small event to mark 7 years of successful work, and honors all of those who are part of A-CAT, proving that we are stronger than all differences, and with our unity, we can impact our community, especially during these times of need.
At I-CAT, we celebrated Iftar, Purim, and Easter together—with food, costumes, workshops, and most importantly, a sense of community. Through the eyes and energy of I-CAT’s incredible youth, we are reminded of the importance of building a multicultural future rooted in mutual respect.
For as long as he can remember, Niama Issa loved organizing celebrations for family and friends. At 33, he joined A-CAT’s Event planning program and transformed his hobby into a profession.
“At A-CAT, I gained professional knowledge and met people in the field, pastry chefs, butchers, and more. Now I’m launching my own company for event marketing, production, and design, and giving back through community events.”
Despite sirens, drones, and wartime uncertainty, our first Event Planning program reached the finish line. A remarkable cohort of Christian, Jewish, Druze, and Muslim students learned event design, negotiation, and entrepreneurship, and produced professional events while building lasting collaborations.
How does a Muslim girl feel in a Jewish kindergarten? Do minorities in Israel feel different? And how do they experience war?
In a bold, heartfelt panel, students posed questions many adults avoid and received honest answers from our diverse staff: a Jewish woman, a Muslim woman, a Christian man, and a Druze woman. Together, they shared how they maintain collaboration and unity even in these challenging times.
This courageous dialogue is just the beginning, as we continue turning crisis into connection.
The center’s staff have distributed more than 200 board game kits purchased through a special fund-raising effort organized by A-CAT. They were distributed through evacuees’ centers with citizens from all over the north and south:
The Ministry of Education, the Akko Municipality Welfare Department, Community Centers and directly to the families in need.
During the war, A-CAT staff conducted on-site interactive workshops in 3D Printing, Photography, and Videography for displaced children and youth from the south and north.
Even during the difficult days we are all going through, Jewish and Arab participants have bonded, collaborated and built friendships, proving that we are stronger when we stand together.
Youth collaborate and communicate together in Arabic and Hebrew, take photos together, create in 3D printing and participate in fun activities, experiencing a great summer.
“A-CAT’s story is more than a model for our nation, it should be the standard to which we aspire,” said President Yitzhak Herzog at the Mega event ; A-CAT’s six years anniversary. It marked four years of successful partnership with USAID – United States Agency for International Development, and purchasing a permanent home for A-CAT with the help of our great supporters. Our partners and friends, from Israel and across the seas have joined our celebrations, representatives from the embassy and religious leaders joined this evening which included blessings and a musical performance by the East and West Jerusalem Orchestra with Mira Awad.
What does a dream come true to look like? Noor Abu-Doula dreamed of opening a café house that would combine good food with art workshops and exhibitions of young artists.
Recently, after she completed her studies at the Center in the “Entrepreneurship and Management of a Tourism Business vocational training she opened “Kofi Pan” in an ancient building in the village of Yarka.
“I am attracted to beautiful places with a rich cultural background, because you will get a chance to learn about people and bring society to a better place. Studying at A-CAT gave me the tools to earn a job, and the courage to make my dream come true.”
